After months in the mountains tending flocks of sheep, shepherds are welcomed back to the village.

The weekend begins at 4:50 pm on Friday at the Bucharest North train station with a relaxing 2.5 hour train ride through the verdant valleys of the Bucegi mountains. The weekend includes a Saturday hike in the highland mountains to a shepherd's camp where you will visit with shepherds, see how the fragrant mountain cheese is made, and test your skill at making bols, the delicious mounds of grilled cornmeal and cheese. Sunday will be spent at the festival. The train back to Bucharest departs Brasov at 4:50 pm and arrives in Bucharest at 7:25 pm.
